LHASA PETIK

BIO

Lhasa Petik is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her distinct, husky vocals are almost always accompanied by her beloved ukulele or guitar. She also plays the violin, stand up, electric bass, and piano. Balancing the line somewhere between lo-fi bedroom electronics and organic instrumentation, Lhasa creates a fresh sound that lies on the fringes of pop. Lhasa finds inspiration from her contemporaries like Lorde, Sebastian Paul, Glass Animals, Elohim, Bea Miller, and more.

“I love juxtaposition in music, and find myself drawn to soft acoustic instrumentals that are tied together with hard hitting percussion. My biggest fear is my music becoming too predictable and generic, so I like to play around with various different genres in each song, “ Lhasa says.

After spending most of 2019 in Australia performing, writing and chasing inspiration, Lhasa returned to Canada rejuvenated and ready to create. Her travels led to some chance collaborations and new releases, all of which show the versatility of the Canadian artist. Since then, she has released originals “think i lost u,” “Here and Gone,” “Hurts to be Young,” and collaborations “take it slow,” and “Never be the One.”

Lhasa has been featured on CTV, This Song is Sick, Clout Magazine, Run the Trap, Live Nation’s Ones to Watch, Le Future Wave, and performed at Toronto’s School Night. Her music has received continued support from all major DSPs and featured on prominent playlists like Fresh Finds, Indie Pop & Chill, New Music Friday, and more.
