santpoort announces upcoming album with new single “in my dreams” feat. Jonti

Sparkling electronic pop song "in my dreams" is the newest single from Dutch producer santpoort. The artist (who currently resides in Australia) has delivered the single alongside the announcement of his upcoming album, Maybe Not Tomorrow. The highly anticipated fourteen song LP will be out May 24 through indie label Friends of Friends.

As santpoort's latest offering into the world of the forthcoming full-length release, "in my dreams" is a bedroom pop track, stripped down and smooth, half underwater, half floating in bliss. Poolside but the pool is molded over, covered in lichen and vines. Jumanji with a MIDI. With help from psychedelic pop artist Jonti, this jam is a tinge vintage and retro yet modern and full of glam and grooves.

"This one’s about the daydream state one achieves while going through the motions," says Julien Mier aka santpoort. "Mundane actions being repeated over and over. A factory line bottling a shampoo product. Silhouettes walking on and off the trains. At the same time," he adds, "it’s a song that fantasizes about a better and brighter future." From feeling overwhelmed in a rowdy city to killing one's ego and being aware of one's surroundings in order to survive, this is a song of breaking free from the day-to-day routine. Overcoming the numbness.

Through and through, the new single is sweeping yet glamorous. Like looking into a mirror and instead of seeing a reflection, you see a disco ball, shattered and cracked on the floor, with an orchid sprouting out of the top. Climbing so high you have to press your face against the mirror just to get a better look.
