Jeune Oji announces forthcoming EP with a beautiful new single “normandy.”

“This track is a tribute to the loved ones we have lost, to the places we used to visit. The piano at the beginning, transformed into a sample that sounds like it's coming from an old radio, was composed at the time my grandmother passed away. I was in Normandy, the place of my origins and where my mother was born and grew up, in the countryside near Rouen, sitting at a grand piano, improvising different ideas and recording them on my phone. That was black in 2021. 

I wanted to create a nostalgic and melancholic atmosphere to express the love for my loved ones and the places I no longer visit. It seemed important to me to include real instruments such as electric and acoustic guitars, ukulele, and atmospheric and soft vocals, which are the main elements of the song, along with the piano.” - Jeune Oji
